Rischa S. Cole
Secretary of the District
Secretary of the District Rischa Cole is a Board appointed officer that manages the office responsible for providing primary administrative support for the Board of Directors. She is also the District’s Custodian of Records. Beginning her career with EBMUD in the late 1990s as an Administrative Clerk, she advanced through numerous promotions to attain her current position. While working full-time, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Cal State East Bay using the District's tuition reimbursement program and leveraging the support of internal mentors. In August 2022, she received her Certified Municipal Clerk designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
A believer in the importance of building a positive and supportive professional network, Rischa continues to pay it forward by offering mentorship and guidance to new and current employees. She uses her own experiences to encourage others to broaden their visibility, expand capabilities, increase self-confidence, and seek out new roles within the organization. She also encourages staff to pursue networking opportunities in EBMUD’s affinity groups and is herself a leader in the Black Employee Network where she coordinates events that promote inclusivity, build community, and ensures that employees experience a greater sense of belonging.
She is dedicated to upholding the values and mission of the District and takes pride in contributing to EBMUD's efforts to provide customers with a dependable and valuable resource: water.
