From an early age, Janetta Johnson had a clear career goal - to support leaders in executive-level positions. She completed a two-year college program in just 18 months and set her sights on finding an organization that aligned with her values. EBMUD was the perfect fit as it provides the community with high-quality, affordable water. Through hard work and focus, and with the help of mentors who recognized her potential early on, she has achieved her current position as the Assistant to the General Manager. She is proud of her accomplishments and grateful for the support and encouragement she received along the way.
Janetta also takes pride in helping and supporting others in establishing and achieving their goals. As an inclusive leader, "I like sharing with colleagues, and even candidates I meet in interviews, my knowledge about EBMUD, the opportunities, and what they need to do to succeed." Janetta believes in the importance of hard work and encourages people to ask questions to gain a better understanding of what is required to achieve success.
Janetta is open-minded and seeks to understand the feelings and perspectives of colleagues whose backgrounds, experiences, and circumstances are different from her own.
