Kathy Viatella
Intergovernmental Affairs Manager
Kathryn (Kathy) Viatella is charged with leading EBMUD’s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. She is passionate about working in the field of public policy on water and environmental issues. Kathy has been instrumental in creating and driving strategies that lead to innovative solutions to complex problems. She possesses deep policy expertise, political acumen, excellent communication skills, and strong professional relationships in the water sector, the environmental community, and government. Kathy is driven to partnerships and collaborations that strive for inclusive solutions. Before joining EBMUD, Kathy worked for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Resources Legacy Fund, and several environmental non-profits, including The Nature Conservancy and Environmental Defense Fund. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College and a Master of Science from the University of Florida.
