Freeport intake facility

EBMUD’s water transfer program secures dry-year water supplies through voluntary water transfers.

EBMUD plans to use the Freeport Regional Water Facility, a joint project of the Sacramento County Water Agency and EBMUD, to deliver transfer water to EBMUD’s service area.

EBMUD continues to develop partnerships to purchase water in times of need from forward-thinking agencies. In 2014 and 2015, EBMUD purchased short-term water transfers to help meet customer demand during the drought.
