Elections for the EBMUD Board in Wards 2, 3, 4 and 7 are scheduled to be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
EBMUD will request its elections be consolidated with the General Election in Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
All candidates must be a resident and registered voter in the ward from which he/she is nominated.
Ward 2 is in Contra Costa County and includes the cities of Alamo, Lafayette, Walnut Creek, Town of Danville, portions of San Ramon and Pleasant Hill, and communities of Blackhawk and Diablo.
Ward 3 is in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties and includes substantial portions of the city of Oakland, Piedmont, Orinda, El Sobrante, Town of Moraga, and portions of Pinole and Richmond.
Ward 4 is in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties and includes the cities of Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, and a portion of Oakland, El Cerrito and Kensington.
Ward 7 is in Alameda County and Contra Costa Counties and includes the community of Castro Valley, portions of San Leandro and Hayward, the communities of Cherryland and Fairview, and a portion of San Ramon.
Campaign Finance Disclosure and Other Filing Requirements
State law requires candidates to file California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) Form 501 – Candidate Intention Statement with the county election office or county clerk before soliciting or accepting contributions or making expenditures from personal funds on behalf of his/her candidacy.
Candidates may also be required to complete other campaign-related forms depending on the level of a candidate’s fundraising. Form 501 and other campaign-related forms can be obtained from the FPPC website at www.fppc.ca.gov.
Please note that the EBMUD Campaign Finance Reform Ordinance (CFRO) requires candidates to file a copy of the completed Form 501 with EBMUD’s Office of the Secretary at the same time it is filed with the county.
The CFRO also requires candidates to file one of the following forms, as applicable, with EBMUD’s Office of the Secretary, when they file FPPC Form 501 with the county:
- Accepting Voluntary Campaign Expenditure Ceiling Form – to be filed if candidate accepts the voluntary campaign expenditure ceiling
- Declining Voluntary Campaign Expenditure Ceiling Form – to be filed if candidate declines the voluntary campaign expenditure ceiling
