The EBMUD Captive Insurance Company Board of Directors meets annually to discuss and solve challenges in the District’s insurance coverage. The Board will also conduct annual actuarial reviews and external audits. These meetings are open to the public.

Join EBMUD staff for a guided 6-mile Water Walk exploring the Upper San Leandro Dam and Reservoir! This informative and scenic hike will cover key aspects of watershed management, infrastructure, and environmental stewardship in the East Bay. Space is limited.

Ruth Bancroft Waterwise Garden Tour9:00 am
Ruth Bancroft Garden, EBMUD, and CCWD present a self-guided tour of over 20 inspiring home gardens in Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Lafayette, and Moraga. This tour highlights the beauty, creativity, and diversity of waterwise gardening in our local communities. Participants provide their own transportation and explore the gardens at their own pace. Garden paths may be narrow or uneven. Guests using wheelchairs can enjoy front garden views.
The tour runs from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. with a lunch break from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.

Volunteer Workday In The Sierra Foothills9:00 am
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED | REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED
Under the direction of Ranger/Naturalist II Lora Sparrowk, we will be performing trail maintenance on a section of the Mokelumne Coast to Crest Trail between Valley Springs and Jackson, Calif. All instruction and tools will be provided. No experience necessary.

Tours
Building Lake Chabot: Stories Beneath the Surface9:00 am
Join us for a walk to Chabot Dam to learn about the important contributions of Chinese laborers to early water infrastructure systems.
Join EBMUD Staff on May 9, 2026 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. The walk will cover the history of the reservoir as one of the earliest reservoirs planned by Anthony Chabot and built by hundreds of Chinese laborers. Chabot Reservoir is vital as a standby emergency drinking water supply, a recreation space, and cultural landmark.
Details
- The walk will begin at 9 a.m. sharp and we aim to return by 11 a.m.
- Save room for others. Please let us know if you will not be able to attend.
- The walk will be 1.5 miles long and will begin at Chabot Park (Estudillo Ave. entrance)
- Bring water.
Requirements
- Attendees must be able to walk uphill.
- How to Dress
- Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes
- Dress in layers
