Learn more about how actual properties have saved water and money by financing upgrades on their EBMUD water bill.
BRIDGE Housing, a community housing non-profit, participated in EBMUD’s On-Bill Financing Program to finance plumbing fixture upgrades at their senior housing property in Emeryville, CA. Through the program, BRIDGE Housing installed:
- 50 high-efficiency toilets measuring .8 gallon per flush (gpf)
- 13 bathroom faucet aerators measuring 1 gallon per minute (gpm)
BRIDGE Housing paid for 1/3 of the upgrades upfront and financed 2/3 of the project on their EBMUD bill.
- Water and Wastewater use decreased an average of 50% from 2012-2013 to 2018
- Over $9,400 was saved in 2018 on water, wastewater, and sewer bills
Shanon Lampkins, Director of Portfolio for BRIDGE Housing says, "The EBMUD program provided a great opportunity for us to test an On-Bill Financing model with little risk. The results of the program implementation have improved property operations.”
