Project Background
East Bay Municipal Utility District is planning water system upgrades to the Holly Pressure Zone beginning this summer. These upgrades will improve water pressure, fire flow, and reliability in the area.
This project will include three phases of work:
• Installation of 4,020 feet of new 12-inch, 8-inch, and 6-inch diameter pipe, connecting the end of Grey Eagle Drive in Walnut Creek to the southern end of Castle Crest Road, and continuing to the end of Sydney Drive.
• Rezoning 55 customers on Castle Crest Road and Sydney Drive from the Hill Mutual Pressure Zones to the Holly Pressure Zone.
• Demolishing four old distribution facilities that have exceeded their useful service life: Crest pumping plant on Castle Crest Road; and Crest reservoir, Hill Mutual pumping plant, and Hill Mutual pressure vessel on Sydney Drive.
