Project Overview
EBMUD will be rehabilitating roof terraces at its Administration Building at 375 11th Street from March through December 2026. Work will take place on the building’s upper floors.
The existing roofing system, originally installed in the 1990s, is nearing the end of its useful life. This project will replace the roof terraces and restore systems needed for safe building maintenance.
Schedule and Work Hours
Typical work hours are weekdays, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Limited weekend work may occur.
Construction Activities and Impacts
Project Activities:
Roof work, material deliveries and removal, construction staging, and intermittent crane operations.
Construction Impacts:
Noise, dust, increased truck activity, and temporary road, sidewalk, lane, and parking closures in the immediate area. EBMUD appreciates the community’s patience during construction.
Crane Operations:
During construction, periodic crane operations will be needed to lift materials to the roof. These activities may require temporary lane, sidewalk, and parking closures, as well as truck staging on streets surrounding the project site. Crane work will occur intermittently as construction progresses, and advance notice will be provided when specific dates and traffic impacts are confirmed.
Pedestrian and traffic safety is a top priority. Trained flaggers will be on site during crane operations to direct traffic. At least one lane of traffic will remain open for through traffic. Limited sidewalks and parking may be closed near crane work areas during work hours.
Please note that during lane closures on 11th, Franklin, and Webster Streets, bus stops will not be removed, access to garage entrances and loading docks will remain open or be maintained whenever possible during crane operations. However, traffic delays may occur.
All construction dates and road closures are subject to change. Advance notices and signage will be provided.
EBMUD appreciates the community’s patience during this work.
