Picnic Reservation Update
Due to construction planned at Lafayette Reservoir, picnic site reservations are unavailable between February 2026 and July 2026. As the construction timeline becomes clearer, EBMUD expects to open select reservation dates. Please check back periodically for availability as dates are released. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Picnic areas that are not affected by construction will continue to be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Three picnic sites at Lafayette Reservoir can be reserved.
Small Picnic Site
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays: $200
- Monday-Thursday $100
- Up to 75 people
- One BBQ (3’ by 3’), drinking fountain with hose bib
- Electricity is not available; generators are not permitted
- NO VEHICLE ACCESS TO PICNIC SITE
Large Picnic Site
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays: $350
- Monday-Thursday $175
- Up to 150 people
- One BBQ (3’ by 3’), drinking fountain with hose bib
- Electricity is not available; generators are not permitted
- NO VEHICLE ACCESS TO PICNIC SITE
Upper Picnic Site
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays:$350
- Monday-Thursday $175
- Up to 150 people
- One BBQ (3’ by 3’), drinking fountain with hose bib
- Electricity is not available; generators are not permitted
- Designated parking space adjacent to picnic site included in reservation
- Catering trucks must use designated parking space, provide for fire safety (fire extinguisher), and all payment arrangements must be made off-site
- All EBMUD Watershed Rules and Regulations are in effect.
- Reservation does not include parking fees. Parking is $7.00/day or $1.00/30 minutes at metered parking. Pre-paid parking arrangements may be made at the Visitor Center.
- Lawns are not reservable and are shared with other visitors.
- Lawn games are welcome; bounce houses and similar items are not permitted.
- Maximum four shade umbrellas/tents with max size 10’x10’.
- Electricity is not available at the picnic sites; generators are not permitted.
- Music and sound must be kept to an appropriate level; no amplifiers.
- Picnic site must be left reasonably clean and all refuse placed in proper containers.
- Driving on lawns and trails is prohibited.
- BBQs may be limited due to fire weather.
- Fundraising, soliciting, and advertising are not permitted.
- Deposit refund available with 30-day notice of cancellation.
- Reschedules or refunds due to rain must be approved by EBMUD on the day of the original reservation.
