The East Bay Municipal Utility District’s board members today unanimously re-elected Lesa R. McIntosh President of the EBMUD Board of Directors through 2019. McIntosh was unanimously elected President by the Board in January 2017. The Board also unanimously re-elected William B. Patterson to continue to serve as Board Vice-President.

McIntosh represents Ward 1, which includes the Contra Costa County cities of Crockett, Hercules, Rodeo, San Pablo; portions of Richmond and Pinole, and the communities of North Richmond and Selby. McIntosh was appointed to the board in 1999, elected in 2000 and reelected in 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016. She was vice-president of the Board in 2005 and 2006 and served as president in 2007 and 2008.

Patterson represents Ward 6 which is comprised of portions of Oakland including East Oakland and the area south of Park

Blvd/5th Avenue to the San Leandro boundary. Patterson is a longtime community activist and a retired Oakland Parks and Recreation manager. He was appointed to the Board in 1997, elected in 1998 and reelected in 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016. He served as board president from 2005 to 2007 and as vice-president from 2003 to 2005.

EBMUD’s Board of Directors consists of seven members publicly elected by geographical wards.

EBMUD has a proud history of providing high-quality drinking water for 1.4 million customers in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. The District’s wastewater treatment serves 685,000 customers and protects the San Francisco Bay.
