EBMUD is installing and upgrading monitoring stations throughout our sewer interceptor system. These stations will allow us to track wastewater levels and protect our Bay by preventing overflows.
Construction will take place at three locations in Oakland: on Embarcadero between Webster and Alice Streets, at the intersection of Kennedy & Dennison Streets near an 880 off-ramp, and at E. 12th Street and 54th Ave. During certain construction phases at each location, expect traffic delays from lane closures as well as reduced street parking.
Construction is planned to begin in fall 2021 and continue until spring 2022. Schedule subject to change. Work will not be continuous at each location throughout this period, but will occur for a week or more during each stage of construction. Traffic plates will be placed over open trenches at the end of each day and access to residences and business entrances will be maintained.
