Map: proposed locations for pump station R3000

Background

Irrigating with recycled water saves precious drinking water and reduces the chance of significant rationing during droughts.

EBMUD plans to build a recycled water pump station with approximately 5.6 million gallons per day of capacity. This will allow us to provide recycled water for irrigation to new customers in San Ramon as well as Blackhawk and Danville.

Location

EBMUD has identified two possible locations for the pump station (see map). The preferred location “A2” is on the shoulder of Dougherty Road. The alternate location (“A4”) is located on DERWA (Dublin San Ramon Services District/EBMUD) property off of Lilac Ridge Road and Lantana Way. The site will include a pump station, parking and electrical facilities. The pump station will be up to 21 feet high and approximately 30 feet by 40 feet at the base. The site will include security fencing. Noise reduction design will include acoustical louvers. Construction is proposed for a roughly two-year period between 2022 and 2024.

Mitigated Negative Declaration

In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, EBMUD completed a Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) and determined that, with mitigation, the project will not generate significant impacts. The MND is available for public review and comment from October 8 to December 7, 2018. Written comments must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on December 7, 2018. A public meeting was held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, and a second meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.
