2018 Great Sierra River Cleanup

River Cleanup Join other volunteers for a fun and productive day of cleaning up the banks of the Mokelumne River and Camanche Reservoir. Volunteers can choose from multiple locations that include Camanche Reservoir, Middle Bar, and the Mokelumne River Day Use Area. Camanche Recreation Company will sponsor a free BBQ for participating volunteers to be served at 12:30 pm at Camanche South Shore, followed by a prize giveaway!

Camanche Recreation Company, The California Parks Company and the Mokelumne River Outfitters have donated these prizes:

  • A gift certificate for an Angel Island tour by Segway, tram or scooter
  • A two-night stay at Big Basin Redwoods State Park in an upgraded tent cabin
  • A free cottage stay plus complimentary boat, kayak and paddle board rentals at Lake Camanche

Bring: Your family, work clothes (long pants), sturdy boots/shoes, work gloves, hat, sun glasses, sunscreen, insect/tick repellent, and a canteen. We will provide drinking water.

Minors: Participants under 18 are welcome with written permission from a parent or guardian; an adult must accompany those under 16. Flotation devices are recommended for children working close to the water's edge.

Weather Conditions: Rain or shine but be prepared for warm weather. Click here for weather information.
