Maintaining Your Low-Water Garden

Maintaining Your Low-Water Garden

Saturday April 27, 2019 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

In 2017, The East Bay Regional Park District converted an area of lawn into a low-water habitat garden at the entrance to Crown Memorial State Beach in Alameda. The site is now a perfect laboratory for learning about garden maintenance.

Join compost and sheet mulching guru Lori Caldwell, an EBRPD Ranger, and an EBMUD Representative for a hands-on workshop to learn how to keep your garden thriving. Topics will include plant care such as deadheading, pruning, dividing perennials; weed prevention such as spot treatment with sheet mulching; and information on setting up and monitoring seasonal watering. This event is free but registration is required.

When: Saturday, April 27, 2019

Time: 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

Location: Robert W. Crown Memorial State Beach, Alameda (see map below)

Cost: Free
