How To Ensure Your Low-Water Use Landscape Saves Water
Does putting in a low-water use landscape guarantee water savings?
At the next LAC meeting, Dave Langridge (Water Conservation Representative, EBMUD) will provide an analysis of water consumption from 86 irrigation-only accounts for landscapes subject to the Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (WELO), offer ways to bridge the gap on water budgets and actual water use, and present EBMUD water conservation programs.
Dave manages EBMUD's commercial large-landscape water budget program, conducts irrigation audits, and supports the commercial rebate program. Well-known in the landscape maintenance industry, Dave holds an AS degree in Horticulture and he is a certified IA Golf and Landscape Irrigation Auditor.
We will also hear from Sergio Ramirez, (Water Conservation Administrator, SFPUC), on actual water use vs. water budgeted for WELO landscapes in San Francisco. Dennis Solis, (Landscaper, Northern Landscape Management, Inc.) and John Piersol (Board President, Marina Seagate HOA) will conclude the meeting with a San Leandro HOA water conservation success story.
The meeting will be held at the EBMUD Administration Building at 375 11th Street in Oakland on the second floor. The Administration Building is conveniently located near Broadway and 12th Street BART station.
Public transportation is encouraged. If public transportation is not an option, validated parking is available at the Pacific Renaissance Plaza garage right next door on Webster Street. Bring your token to the meeting and EBMUD will validate at the end of the meeting. Please note, there is no parking available in the EBMUD parking garage.
