Fix a Leak Week

Fix a Leak Week

March 18-24 is National Fix-a-leak week. Catch leaks in your home with these 3 tips:

1. Use food coloring in the tank of your toilet or use a dye tab. Wait 15 minutes. If color shows up in the bowl without flushing, you have a leak. You can find dye tabs at participating local hardware stores.

2. Sign up for a leak alert to be notified if there is an unusual spike in your household’s water use. You will need your account number and zip code to get started.

3. Look at your water meter before and after a two-hour period of not using water. If the hand on meter’s dial has moved at all, there is probably a leak.
