Moraga Road Pipeline Project Spring 2008 - Fall 2009 EBMUD is installing more than three miles of large-diameter transmission pipeline from the Lafayette Water Treatment Plant on Mt. Diablo Blvd. to the intersection of Moraga Road and Draeger Drive in Moraga. The pipeline will add much-needed reliability to water service in portions of Lafayette, Moraga, and Orinda. Several city construction projects also are scheduled for summer 2008 (see map). Construction Progress Report (last updated May 14, 2008) The City of Orinda is undertaking work preparatory to the reconstruction of Moraga Way in Orinda. This work requires some alternating one-way traffic. Work hours are 9 am to 3 pm. Expect delays. EBMUD is currently on Moraga Road at various locations replacing smaller pipes and completing other work in preparation for installation of the transmission pipeline. This work requires some alternating one-way traffic. Work hours are 9 am to 3:30 pm. Expect delays. Traffic controls will be set up between Sky-Hy Drive and Campolindo Drive the week of May 19. On June 2, the contractor will begin trenching and installing pipe, starting near Sky-Hy Drive and working south to just north of the Campolindo intersection. Summer Road Closure: June 16 - August 22, 2008 A section of Moraga Road (south of Old Jonas Hill Road to north of Sky-Hy Drive) will be closed to through traffic weekdays, 9 am to 5:30 pm. Bus Routes During Road Closure From June 16 to August 22, County Connection's Route #106 bus will run normal routes prior to 9 am and after 5:30 pm. During weekday closure hours, this bus will detour around the closure as shown on the map. Environmental Documentation The Moraga Road Pipeline Project was approved in December 2006 when the EBMUD Board of Directors certified the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Water Treatment and Transmission Improvements Program. A Supplemental EIR was certified by the Board in November 2007.

received during the public comment period, and responses to comments.
