Mokelumne Environment
EBMUD's Lower Mokelumne River Management Plan was implemented in 1993 to provide a reliable water supply and to sustain and enhance the lower Mokelumne River fisheries, especially fall-run Chinook salmon and steelhead trout, and other aquatic and riparian resources. The 1998 Joint Settlement Agreement between EBMUD, the California Department of Fish and Game, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service built upon the Lower Mokelumne River Management Plan. The agreement provides even more protection for lower Mokelumne River resources in addition to those undertaken by EBMUD under the 1993 plan.
