Watershed Master Plan
EBMUD continues to be a leader in watershed
protection evidenced by
adoption of the East Bay Watershed Master Plan (EBWMP) in 1996, which replaced the
1970 Land Use Master Plan. The EBWMP provides program direction and specific guidance
needed to manage and protect 28,000 acres of watershed and five terminal reservoirs in the East Bay. The EBWMP addresses a variety of resource
management issues including fire hazard mitigation, range management,
recreation, land acquisition, habitat restoration, and educational
outreach participation by local schools. It also identifies public uses
considered compatible or potentially compatible with the primary water
quality and biodiversity goals of EBMUD.
You can view or print the East Bay Watershed
Master Plan as a complete report or by chapters using Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free software.
