Sewer System Management Plan

The Sewer System Management Plan, or SSMP, is a document that describes the activities EBMUD uses to manage our wastewater collection system, which includes 37 miles of pipelines, 15 pump stations, five overflow structures, three wet weather facilities, and a one million gallon wet weather storage basin.  The document helps ensure that the EBMUD collection system is operated and maintained to provide reliable service and minimize the number of sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs).

EBMUD invites input from the public on the implementation and performance of the SSMP.  The eleven components of the SSMP are available below as PDF files that can be viewed and printed through Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free software.  The entire SSMP document was approved by the EBMUD Board of Directors at a public meeting on April 14, 2009.
