Water skiing at Lake Camanche

New! Quagga/Zebra Mussel Prevention Program (mandatory inspections and boating restrictions in place)

A 12-square-mile surface makes Camanche Reservoir bigger than all other EBMUD reservoirs combined. Recreation areas on the north and south shores are open all year.

Popular activities on the vast lake include fishing, swimming, windsurfing, water-skiing and jet-skiing. Both shores offer comfortable campgrounds. You can rent cottages sleeping as many as twelve, many with kitchen facilities. Recreational vehicles can hook up for the night or for up to eight months at South Shore.

Visitors can enjoy swimming, tennis courts, picnicking and hiking. Anglers may rent patio and fishing boats and use marinas at both shores.

The EBMUD fish planting program makes for great trout fishing, along with catfish, black bass and crappie. A frequently stocked South Shore trout pond also is available.

Discounts for seniors and disabled persons are available also.

Camanche is located 25 miles east of Lodi via Highway 88, a two-hour drive from Oakland. The daily entry fee is $9.00 and the daily fishing access permit is $4.00.
