EBMUD offers educational programs for children to learn more about protecting our environment, how natural systems function and how our drinking water supply relates to those systems. Our Rangers work with school age children to enhance habitats, stabilize soils, and restore natural conditions to creeks and disturbed areas in the East Bay. In addition to our creek restoration program, Rangers are available at our Lafayette Recreation area to talk to groups about native wildlife, plants, the famous tower and the reservoir itself as a reserve drinking water supply. For more information or to schedule a visit to Lafayette Reservoir, please call (925) 284-9669. Program Information Educational programs are held at one of our designated restoration locations during morning school hours on specific days of the week. The maximum number of sessions available per school is 6. Each session can include up to 40 kids, as long as there are enough adult chaperones available to assist the Rangers with activities. No more than 3 visits per school. Please try to consolidate your school’s groups into as few restoration classes as possible to make room for other schools. Reservation Information These programs are scheduled December through April by appointment only and reservations are taken on a first come first serve basis as there are a limited number of dates available. Currently, reservations can only be made via mail or fax and appointments cannot be reserved without receipt of the reservation form. We require one reservation sheet per class (not per school). If you have a limited number of dates available, we recommend faxing your request for a faster response. Send your reservation form to:
