Starting Water Service

You can request to start water service online 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or by calling customer service at 1-866-403-2683.

Listed below is information you will need to provide to start a new account.

Applicant and/or name of property owner and mailing address

Address of property to be served

Applicant's ID# (Drivers License, Identification or Social Security number)

Applicant's employer/source of income and years employed

Employer's address and phone number

Reference name and phone number

Landlord name and phone number

Previous residence address

Spouse's name and ID# (if married)

Spouse's employer/source of income and years employed (if married)

Other EBMUD accounts (if applicable)

Close of escrow date (if applicable)

Start service online and receive a reduced account establishment fee of $15 or call customer service at 1-866-403-2683 and an account establishment fee of $30.00 will appear on your first water bill. This fee is not a deposit nor is it refundable and covers the administrative costs associated with starting water service.
