High-Efficiency Toilet Rebates

WateSense Label
Look for the WaterSense label when shopping for high-efficiency toilet models

A toilet using 3.5 gallons or more per flush (GPF) accounts for roughly 26 percent of a home’s indoor water use. One of the easiest ways to lower your water use is to install a high-efficiency toilet (HET), which uses on average 1.28 GPF or less. Although HETs use less water, they remove waste effectively and perform well.

Eligible EBMUD customers can get $100 for upgrading an older toilet using 3.5 GPF or more to a new HET. The offer is good for purchases made January 1 through June 30, 2012, but is not retroactive. Applications for rebates must be submitted within 90 days from the date of purchase.

How to Participate

  1. Read the High-Efficiency Toilet Rebate Program Rules. Only eligible upgrades will receive a rebate.
  2. See the WaterSense HET list for qualifying models (restrictions apply). For commercial applications, see the Flushometer Valve/Bowl combination HET list. For WaterSense-certified in-wall carriers and tanks, please contact EBMUD.
  3. Consult the list of Local Retail Stores & Toilet Disposal Sites.
  4. Purchase and install a qualifying HET within 90 days of purchase.
  5. Complete an application. Review the application check list. Mail application and receipt(s) to:
