EBMUD's personalized recommendations help customers with high water bills save water indoors and in the landscape.

EBMUD offers free, on-site surveys of indoor and landscape water use for all single-family and multi-family residential customers in EBMUD's service area. Indoors, a representative tests showerhead and faucet flow rates, estimates toilet flush volumes, and tests for leaks. Free showerheads and faucet aerators are offered if existing fixtures are not low-flow models.

The landscape survey includes a review of the irrigation system, irrigation design and watering schedules, plus a reading of the meter to reveal possible system leaks. Customers receive a set of recommendations to improve water-use efficiency, with information on toilet, clothes washer, and landscape rebate programs.

These surveys show high water-use customers how implementing recommended conservation measures can result in significant water savings.
