EBMUD Toilet Replacement Rebate


	Reduce water use and lower your EBMUD water bill by buying a new high-efficiency toilet.

EBMUD customers can receive rebates for purchasing WaterSmart High-Efficiency Toilets (HET). The rebate amount is $50 (not including sales tax) for a qualifying HET.

Limit: Two (2) rebates per Single Family Account: One (1) rebate per Multi-Family Dwelling Unit.
Limit: No limit for commercial accounts.

A Pre-installation inspection of existing toilets is required for ten (10) or more rebates per Multi-Family or Commercial Account.

HETs are approved for this program because they are designed to use an average of 20 percent less water than standard 1.6 gallon per flush (gpf) toilets. The qualifying toilets have been tested for water savings reliability and flush performance, thus using less water and removing waste effectively. No standard 1.6 gpf toilets qualify for a rebate.

Only toilet models on the Lists of Qualifying Toilets will be rebated. You must replace a toilet flushing 3.5 gallons per flush or higher to receive a rebate. This program applies to purchases made between July 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009. Toilets must be installed and rebate applications must be postmarked within 90 days of purchase date.

*To qualify for a rebate, you must choose a toilet from the List of Qualifying Toilets OR from the list of UNAR-compliant High-Efficiency Toilet Fixtures which is published by the California Urban Water Conservation Council (CUWCC).
