The East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) supplies water and provides wastewater
treatment for parts of Alameda and Contra Costa counties on the eastern side of San
Francisco Bay in northern California.
Board of Directors
EBMUD
has a seven-member Board of Directors publicly elected from wards within the EBMUD service
area.
Mission Statement
In
1992, the Board of Directors adopted the EBMUD Mission Statement to guide the
organization's work.
Overview
EBMUD is a publicly owned utility formed under the Municipal Utility District Act
passed by the California Legislature in 1921. The Act permits formation of multipurpose
government agencies to provide public services on a regional basis.

EBMUD publishes a variety of reports, newsletters,
