Schapiro Reservoir Replacement
EBMUD replaced the aging Schapiro Reservoir Dam, which is located between Bonita Road and Capitol Hill Avenue in unincorporated Richmond, with a new concrete tank. The new tank is partially buried inside the existing basin and is designed to blend in with the adjacent Wildcat Canyon landscape.
Construction Information
Construction of the tank began in early 2011 and the tank is now in service. Paving, landscaping, and site cleanup are in the final stages and expected to be completed in fall 2012.
